HULHLIAP Short Stay Aftercare Skill Development Training – Batch 3 Launched
Today, the third batch of the Hulhliap Short Stay Aftercare Skill Development Training was launched at the MFM Skill Training Centre, Dawrpui Vengthar. This free training programme is being conducted for youths who have graduated from the Hulhliap Short Stay Centre. In this batch, 16 trainees will undergo training in Assistant Electrician trade.
Pu Malsawmzuala Ralte, Chairman of the Core Committee on Hulhliap-SSC and Chairman of the Mizoram Youth Commission, attended as the Chief Guest. The programme was chaired by Rev. J.C. Lalramliana, Member of the Task Group on Aftercare, Skill Training & Handholding, Hulhliap-SSC, while Pu Nghaklianmawia, President of the Mizoram Upa Pawl (MUP) and Member of the same Task Group, delivered the opening prayer.
In his address, the Chief Guest urged the trainees to complete the training with dedication. He highlighted that the government has already spent over Rs. 2.5 crore on de-addiction efforts and continues to invest resources to ensure the successful rehabilitation of those affected by substance abuse. He further pointed out that there are ample employment opportunities for Mizo youth in Europe and Japan, and that those who remain drug-free can access suitable overseas job opportunities. He also encouraged the trainees to stay connected with the Church and to plan their future under God’s guidance.
Pu R. Vanlalzauva, Director of Mission Foundation Movement, also spoke, urging the trainees to make effective use of the opportunities provided by the government. He mentioned that many trainees from the first batch are already gainfully employed. The closing remarks were delivered by Pi Vanlalhruaii, Member Secretary, Task Group on Aftercare, Skill Training & Handholding, Hulhliap-SSC.
In Batch 1 and Batch 2, a total of 78 trainees completed training across three trades: Assistant Electrician, Aluminium Fabrication, and Food Processing.
