HULHLIAP SHORT STAY AFTER CARE SKILL DEVELOPMENT: INAUGURATION FUNCTION FOR THE 5th BATCH OF ASSISTANT ELECTRICIAN & 4th BATCH OF ALUMINIUM FABRICATION

On 5th May 2026, the inauguration programme for the free skill training courses under Hulhliap Short Stay Centre After Care was held at the MFM Skill Training Centre, Dawrpui Vengthhar. The training includes the 5th Batch of Assistant Electrician and the 4th Batch of Aluminium Fabrication. A total of 27 beneficiaries from Hulhliap Short Stay Centre will undergo training in Assistant Electrician and Aluminium Fabrication trades.
The programme was chaired by Pu Lalnunhlua, Additional Secretary, Social Welfare, Women & Child Development Department and Convener, Task Group on Aftercare, Skill Training & Handholding, Hulhliap-SSC. Pu H. F. Lalrinpuia, Member of the Task Group on Aftercare, Skill Training & Handholding, Hulhliap-SSC, led the devotional session and encouraged the participants by emphasizing the importance of seeking strength from God, who loves and cares for human lives.
In his report on behalf of Hulhliap Short Stay After Care, the Chairman stated that several skill training programmes have already been conducted, including 5 batches of Assistant Electrician, 4 batches of Aluminium Fabrication, 2 batches of Food Processing, and 1 batch of Plumbing. So far, a total of 168 trainees have benefited from these programmes.
Upa K. Lalnginglova, IAS (Retd.), Board Member of Mission Foundation Movement, encouraged the trainees to live disciplined and careful lives, and to become trustworthy workers wherever they may work. He urged them to maintain good records so that they could even secure opportunities outside the state. He further stated that while the government is making various efforts to support them, they should also wisely utilize the skills they acquire. He encouraged them to value themselves, take care of their lives, remain diligent and faithful, and successfully complete their training and careers.
The programme was formally inaugurated by the chief guest, Dr. Lalhriatzuali Ralte (IAS), Secretary, LESDE Department. In her address, she stated that the main objective of the programme is to help recovering substance users rebuild and transform their lives. She encouraged the participants to leave behind their old ways and continue moving forward positively. Though life may be challenging, she urged them to remain determined and move ahead with God’s strength. She acknowledged that due to past experiences, people may sometimes find it difficult to trust them, but encouraged them not to be discouraged and to rise again even after setbacks. She also invited all participants to attend the Hulhliap programme closing function to be held on May 17 at Zarkawt Presbyterian Church.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Pi Vanlalhruaii, Secretary, Task Group on Aftercare, Skill Training & Handholding, Hulhliap-SSC.
