News  |  March 03, 2026

On 3rd March, the closing function and certificate distribution ceremony for the Skill Training Programme conducted for residents of the Hulhliap Short Stay Centre (SSC) was held at the MFM Skill Training Centre, Dawrpui Vengthar. The training programmes included Aluminium Fabrication and Assistant Electrician courses. In this batch, 14 participants completed the Assistant Electrician course, while 21 participants completed the Aluminium Fabrication training.

The programme was chaired by Dr. R. Lalnunmawii, Joint Director (Retd.), SW&TA and Member of the Task Group on Aftercare, Skill Training & Handholding, Hulhliap-SSC. The main address was delivered by Dr. Lalhmuchhuaka, Vice President of the Indian Medical Association, Mizoram State Branch, and Member of the Task Group on Aftercare, Skill Training & Handholding, Hulhliap-SSC. In his speech, he stated that although people sometimes make mistakes and take the wrong path in life, we are fortunate to have a God who always does good for us and is able to do all things. He encouraged the trainees to rely on God and move forward in life with renewed direction and faith.

Pu Lalramchuanzela, Executive Director of Mission Foundation Movement (MFM) and Member of the Task Group on Aftercare, Skill Training & Handholding, Hulhliap-SSC, presented the report. He stated that 35 trainees received certificates in this batch. The Assistant Electrician training began on January 28, while the Aluminium Fabrication training began on February 17. The trainers were Pu Lalremruata (Electrician Trainer) and Pu Malsawmliana (Aluminium Fabrication Trainer). During the training period, Pu Lalrinmawia and Pu Lalchhandama regularly conducted devotional sessions with the trainees.

He also mentioned that if the trainees maintain dedication and willingness to work hard, opportunities may arise through Mission Foundation Movement’s collaboration with partners in Japan, where there is a high demand for workers, including drivers who can earn more than one lakh rupees per month. He encouraged the trainees to remain disciplined, hardworking, and determined in order to achieve success.

Pu Lalnunhlua, Additional Secretary, SW&WCD and Convener of the Task Group on Aftercare, Skill Training & Handholding, Hulhliap-SSC, also delivered a speech. He stated that people sometimes end up on difficult paths because of wrong choices, which often lead to hardship and dissatisfaction in life. However, the government is making great efforts to provide opportunities for rehabilitation and a new beginning. He encouraged the trainees to make good use of the opportunity given to them, not to become complacent, and not to return to their previous ways.

The closing prayer was delivered by Pi Vanlalhruaii, Member Secretary of the Task Group on Aftercare, Skill Training & Handholding, Hulhliap-SSC.

So far, a total of 118 certificates have been distributed to trainees who have completed skill training through Hulhliap SSC.
