Mr. R. Vanlalzauva, born in November 1953 at Biate village between Mr. Laibata and Mrs. Lalruaii, embarked on a remarkable journey that spans missionary work and a notable career in singing. In 1973, he became a member of the Gospel Tigers Team, and by 1975, he left his home to venture as a singer and soloist across the diverse landscapes of Mizoram, including Manipur, Tripura, and Nagaland in India.
In 1980, Mr. R. Vanlalzauva departed from the Gospel Tigers team to fully dedicate himself to missionary work in the Mizo Evangelical Association (MEA) and "Nunna Lal Chhungkua." He tied the knot with B. Lalremtluangi in 1982 and was blessed with two sons and one daughter.
In 1991, he transitioned to the Presbyterian Church and settled in Dawrpui Vengthar. Alongside his missionary service, he earned a livelihood as a comedian member of the "Thangkura Drama Party." However, in 1993, he left his comedian life behind and devoted his entire service to missionary gospel work.
In recognition of his selfless service, he was appointed as Synod Revival Speaker from 1995 to 2009. Since then, Mr. R. Vanlalzauva has continued his solitary service within the state and abroad, including visits to Israel, the UK, Burma, Bangladesh, and the USA.
In addition to his missionary endeavors, Mr. R. Vanlalzauva has had a successful singing career. As a gifted composer, he has created over 70 hymns that he sang himself. Collaborating with other gospel singers like C. Lalhmingmawii, Hlutei, Lianthangpuii, R. Lalbiaksanga, and Vanlalsailova, his hymns have resonated widely. Invited by the All India Radio, he recorded more than 100 hymns in Aizawl, Guwahati, Shillong, and Imphal, achieving 'B' High Grade Artist status. His hymns have played a role in inspiring conversions.
Furthermore, Mr. R. Vanlalzauva, along with his singer wife, released hymn books, garnering significant popularity. He also released a separate album featuring his own composed hymns. His contributions to both missionary work and music reflect a life dedicated to serving and uplifting communities.
