Mission Foundation Movement (MFM) extended emergency relief support to 70 families in Aizawl—35 in Bawngkawn and 35 in Vaivakawn—who were severely affected by recent landslides during this monsoon season.
In Bawngkawn locality, relief packages consisting of rice, potatoes, and Sintex water tanks were distributed on 29th July. The programme was led by the Minister for Disaster Management & Rehabilitation, Prof. Lalnilawma, who praised MFM for its ongoing humanitarian efforts. “MFM has been instrumental in providing timely assistance to those in need,” he said, acknowledging the critical role of community leaders in times of crisis. He also noted that the relentless monsoon rains have posed major challenges for Mizoram, and lauded the unity and resilience of the Mizo people.
Earlier, on 25th July, MFM had provided rice, cooking oil, and Sintex water tanks to 35 affected households in Vaivakawn. The event was attended by the local MLA, Pu Lalnghinglova Hmar, who expressed gratitude for MFM’s ability to effectively channel CSR funds in Mizoram, especially when government resources are stretched. He highlighted that over 10,000 people across the state have benefitted from MFM’s programmes.
Both initiatives were supported through CSR funding from the HT Parekh Foundation, Mumbai.
