One-Day Workshop on Elderly Issues Organised by RRTC

A One-Day Workshop on Elderly Issues was organised by Regional Resource Training Centre (RRTC) for Senior Citizens, Mission Foundation Movement (MFM), at the Vaivakawn Cultural Centre cum Auditorium. A total of 170 MUP members from different localities of Aizawl West participated in the programme.

The programme was coordinated by Ms Esther Lalthachawii, Project Manager. The opening session was chaired by Upa K. Lalnghinglova. Mr Lalramchuanzelan, Executive Director of MFM, presented a report on the various initiatives undertaken by the RRTC for Senior Citizens.

Ms Lalremtluangi, Tutor at MFM School of Nursing, delivered a session on common health problems among the elderly and their care and management. Mr C. Lalremsiama, Fitness Trainer, conducted a practical session on physical exercise, demonstrating simple routines that can be continued at home.

Mr Lalbiaksanga, Team Leader, National Helpline for Senior Citizens, spoke on the rights and entitlements of senior citizens, legal protections provided by the government, and important helpline services available to address difficulties faced by the elderly. Mr KD Lalthiamsama, Lecturer at Laithangpuii College of Pharmacy, gave a talk on appropriate medicines for senior citizens and proper dietary practices. The programme concluded with a closing session led by Mr R. Vanlalzauva, Director, Mission Foundation Movement.
