45 students recieved GDA certificates

News  |  August 07, 2025

45 trainees who had successfully completed skill development training in the healthcare sector under Mizoram Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, under the LESDE Department received their GDA certificate at a function held in the LESDE Conference Hall. The certificates were presented by Mr. John Tanpuia, Director, LESDE Department.

In his address to the graduates, Mr. John Tanpuia encouraged them to maintain a dedicated mindset in their work as they step into the healthcare sector. He highlighted that the global demand for skilled workers is increasing, and India is intensifying its focus on skill development. In Mizoram as well, skill development training is being promoted alongside traditional academic learning, with opportunities available across various ITIs in different districts.

He further mentioned that both the government and private sectors are producing skilled individuals, and overseas placement opportunities are also growing. Mr. Tanpuia added that labour laws are currently being revised, and the 12 key points for labour reforms will be discussed in the upcoming session.

Among the 45 trainees from the Construction Workers Welfare Board, 14 are already working in private hospitals and as home-based caregivers, 5 are undergoing Japanese language training in preparation for employment in Japan, and 8 are preparing to work in Singapore.
