Mission Foundation Movement (MFM) extended relief support to 35 families in Bawngkawn locality who were affected by recent landslides, distributing rice, potatoes, and Sintex water tanks.
The distribution programme was led by the Minister for Disaster Management & Rehabilitation, Prof. Lalnilawma, who commended MFM for its ongoing humanitarian efforts. “MFM has been instrumental in providing timely assistance to those in need,” he said. “During times of crisis, it is often the community leaders who are most impacted, and we deeply appreciate the unwavering dedication of our local council leaders.”
He further noted that Mizoram has faced significant challenges due to relentless rainfall this monsoon, and while the government is doing its part, it is the collective effort and unity of the community that truly reflects the resilient and compassionate spirit of the Mizo people. “The consistent support from MFM and other organisations during such emergencies is highly admirable,” he added.
This initiative was carried out with CSR support from the HT Parekh Foundation, Mumbai. Prior to this, on 25th July, MFM had also provided relief to another 35 affected households in Vaivakawn locality.
