Mission Foundation Movement is actively engaged in providing relief and aid to the Myanmar refugees residing in Mizoram. As of March 2022, an estimated 30,443 refugees from Myanmar are currently residing in Mizoram. MFM staff have conducted visits to various camps, gathering crucial data to facilitate the establishment of sustainable livelihoods for these refugees.
In collaboration with Chin Humanitarian Aid International (CHAI), MFM has formed a partnership to jointly address the challenges faced by refugees through our Refugee Project. Approximately 2,800 families are living in refugee camps, while 4,814 families are residing with their relatives across all districts of Mizoram. These refugees are grappling with the absence of basic necessities for their daily lives, including food, water, shelter, and medical care.
Recognizing the urgent needs of the refugees, Mission Foundation Movement is planning to conduct additional surveys at other refugee camps in the near future. Moreover, there are ongoing plans to organize free clinics at various camp sites located in Aizawl, Mamit, Lunglei, and Kolasib Districts respectively. Through these initiatives, MFM is committed to alleviating the hardships faced by the Myanmar refugees and contributing to their well-being.
