Mental illness is considered a “taboo” in society. People suffering from mental illness are often subject to discrimination. Not only this they are stormed with financial, physical, mental, emotional, and social burden. Due to which availing treatment and care becomes a hassle and even burdensome for the family members.
Affirming the need for awareness and support in providing a nurturing environment, MFM, under the National Mental Health Mission, Govt. of India organized a Target Intervention Project at Champhai District covering 125,370 populations. This Target Intervention project provides Counseling; Toll Free, Awareness Campaign, Free Clinic and Training Program.
